Check Out our Sister Station

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our beloved friend and colleague, David “Julio The Midnight Chef” Malcom. For over 30 years, Julio’s warm voice, sharp wit, and genuine love of country music made our mornings brighter on WMOQ. He was always ready with a story, a laugh, and a reminder to cherish the simple joys of life.

A dedicated farmer and avid baseball fan, Julio’s deep knowledge of country music was matched only by his passion for connecting with listeners across Morgan, Oconee, Walton, and beyond. Whether running the “Old Country Jukebox”, broadcasting high school football, or chatting live with local callers, Julio made everyone feel like family.

He ended each broadcast with a simple yet powerful reminder: “Shake a hand, make a friend, never forget the power in prayer.” We will miss him dearly, but his voice and spirit will forever echo in our hearts and across the airwaves.
